Trans Med Ambulance
Service was founded to provide ambulance transport and transfers in
order to assist the county funded ambulance services. Government funded
ambulances need help with transportation needs for hospitals, life care
centers, senior citizens nursing homes, assisted living centers,
dialysis centers, cancer treatment centers, rehab facilities, doctor
offices and the medially handicapped. Special needs, bed bound, oxygen
dependant.
Each ambulance is required to
pass an annual mechanical and supply inspection. We have provided
additional units to local and surrounding counties and have assisted in
tornado, bus wreck and hospital hazardous material disasters. We have
helped with three air shows, with attendance estimates of 100,000, and
outdoor concerts along with numerous stand-by and disaster drill
activities.
Trans Med maintains an “A” rating from the State of
Tennessee Department of Emergency Medical Services, their highest
license category. We have never had our license suspended, withheld, or
in any way been disciplined by the state EMS Division or any other
agency.
I personally have
been an EMT since 1983 and a paramedic since 1988. I have been an
instructor of Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life
Support, CPR and First Aid. I worked 11 years for Coffee County EMS,
and have worked part-time at Harton Regional Medical Center in the ER,
CCU, respiratory therapy, and education departments. I am currently the
secretary for the South Central Emergency Medical Services Directors
Association, and represent that organization as a board member of the
Tennessee Ambulance Service Association.
